Background of The Hans Foundation The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India.

Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.

Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 57 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

About the Role The Assistant Trainer – GDA &

- Elder Care will support the Trainer in delivering classroom and practical training to youth enrolled under The Hans Foundation Livelihood Skills Training Programme. The role involves assisting in skill development, practical demonstrations, trainee engagement, laboratory management, documentation, and assessment activities to prepare trainees for careers in hospitals, clinics, home healthcare, and elder care services.

- Type of Employment: Contractual (One-year, renewable based on project requirements)

- Reporting to: Senior Project Coordinator

Duties &

- Responsibilities

- Assist the Trainer in conducting classroom and practical training sessions on General Duty Assistant (GDA) and Elder Care as per the prescribed curriculum.

- Support practical demonstrations on patient care techniques, including personal hygiene, patient mobility, vital signs monitoring, infection prevention, and basic nursing assistance.

- Prepare classrooms, practical laboratories, medical equipment, and training materials before each training session.





- Ensure proper cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and maintenance of the skills laboratory and training equipment.

- Assist in conducting trainee induction programmes and orientation sessions.

- Support the Trainer in preparing lesson plans, assessments, practical demonstrations, and learning activities.

- Maintain trainee attendance, practical assessment records, training registers, and daily documentation.

- Provide individual guidance to trainees during practical sessions and skill demonstrations.

- Encourage trainee participation and help create an interactive learning workplace.

- Assist in conducting trainee assessments and monitoring learning progress.

- Support the preparation and implementation of Personal Development Plans (PDPs) for trainees.

- Motivate and counsel trainees to improve attendance, discipline, and programme completion.

- Assist in mobilization activities, awareness programmes, community outreach, and student selection processes.

- Support placement-related activities, employer interactions, and trainee documentation.

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by the project.

- Ensure compliance with THF policies, healthcare safety standards, infection control protocols, and programme guidelines.

- Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Trainer, Centre Coordinator, or Senior Project Coordinator.

Other Indicative Requirements

Educational Qualifications

- B.Sc. Nursing (Preferred) / GNM / ANM from a recognized institution.

- Registration with the State Nursing Council (where applicable) will be an added advantage.

- Certification in General Duty Assistant (GDA), Elder Care, or related healthcare programmes is desirable.

Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience &

- Other Requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

- Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital, clinic, healthcare facility, or skill development programme.





- Experience assisting in healthcare or vocational training programmes will be preferred.

- Practical knowledge of patient care, first aid, hygiene, infection control, and basic nursing procedures.

- Ability to assist in conducting practical demonstrations and skill-based assessments.

- Basic knowledge of documentation, reporting, and trainee performance monitoring.

- Exposure to NSDC/Skill India-aligned programmes or healthcare sector training will be an added advantage.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in Hindi with basic English proficiency.

- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, and online reporting) is mandatory.
