Role Description The Assistant Professor in Travel & Tourism Management is a full-time, on-site role based at GGI in Khanna. The role involves planning and delivering undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in travel and tourism, using learner-centered teaching methods and updated industry-relevant content. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, conducting lectures, guiding practical and field-based learning, mentoring learners on projects and internships, and assessing performance through assignments, examinations, and continuous evaluation.

The role also requires contributing to curriculum enhancement, participating in academic committees, engaging in research and scholarly activities, and building industry linkages that support placements, guest lectures, and experiential learning.

Professor is expected to support departmental initiatives, maintain academic records, and foster an inclusive, professional, and ethical learning environment.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong University Teaching and Curriculum Development skills, including experience designing and delivering travel and tourism management courses.
- Candidates should possess Research skills, with the ability to undertake academic or applied research in tourism, hospitality, or related fields and publish or present findings.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Organizational Behavior, especially as it relates to tourism organizations, service operations, and team dynamics in the travel sector.
- Candidates should possess Marketing skills, with understanding of tourism marketing, destination branding, customer experience, and digital promotion strategies.
- Postgraduate degree (preferably Ph.D. or pursuing Ph.D.) in Travel & Tourism Management, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- Prior teaching or academic experience in higher education, preferably in travel, tourism, hospitality, or allied domains.
- Ability to integrate industry trends, case studies, and technology tools (e.g., reservation systems, analytics, LMS platforms) into teaching.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage a diverse learner population.
- Commitment to outcome-based education, learner mentoring, and continuous professional development.
