Description

Soliton is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy intelligent applications using Generative AI, LLMs, and up-to-date AI engineering practices. The role focuses on production-ready AI solutions, RAG systems, and responsible AI deployment.

Role: Applied AI Engineer

Location: Bangalore/Coimbatore

Experience

- Minimum Required Experience: 3 years
- 3+ years of experience building applications using Python and asynchronous programming
- Proven experience in AI/ML engineering and related technologies
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases

Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and deploy AI-driven applications
- Integrate Generative AI models, data pipelines, and inference systems into production-ready solutions
- Develop Generative AI applications using Python and FastAPI
- Build AI solutions using LLM frameworks such as LlamaIndex and LangChain
- Design and optimize RAG pipelines for improved information retrieval
- Work with self-hosted and cloud-based vector databases for search and retrieval
- Design and manage knowledge graphs and graph-based RAG systems
- Implement re-ranking and retrieval optimization techniques




- Apply prompt engineering and context engineering
- Establish guardrails for safe, ethical, and compliant AI deployment
- Build data preprocessing and transformation pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- Perform offline inference using Ollama or Hugging Face models
- Integrate online LLM providers for real-time inference
- Monitor AI workflows and evaluate model performance
- Continuously improve AI systems using evaluation insights, metrics, and user feedback

Additional Responsibilities

- Implement containerized deployments using Docker
- Use AI evaluation frameworks or custom evaluation systems
- Support basic orchestration concepts for AI agents and workflows
- Deploy applications in cloud or on-prem infrastructure
- Prepare data and techniques for fine-tuning

Nice To Have

- Experience with MCP clients and servers
- Knowledge of multimodal LLMs for image and voice processing
- Knowledge of deploying applications in cloud or on-prem infrastructure
- Knowledge of fine-tuning techniques and data preparation for fine-tuning
