Role Description :

Techno International New Town (TINT) is inviting applications for an Adhoc/Contractual Faculty position in Engineering Economics.

The candidate must be ready to teach the MAKAUT HSMC-301/HSMC-401 syllabus.

Position Overview-

Job Title: Adhoc Faculty / Contractual Faculty For Two Semester

Department: Humanities and Social Sciences (Basic Science & Humanities)

Subject Focus: Economics for Engineers (Engineering Economics)Engagement

Duration: Semester-bound / Temporary (extendable based on performance and institutional needs).

Academic Qualifications & EligibilityPrimary Requirements:

First Class in Master’s Degree (M.A. / M.Sc.) in Economics with a strong academic background.

Preferred Profiles: Candidates possessing an MBA alongside an Economics background, or a Ph.D. / NET / SET qualification.

Compliance Standards: Eligibility rules align strictly with the latest AICTE and MAKAUT faculty standards.

Required Syllabus Expertise The selected candidate must effectively deliver the official MAKAUT Economics for Engineers curriculum, which includes the following core modules:

- Module 1 (Economic Decision Making): Frameworks, role of engineers in decisions, and cash vs. book costs.
- Module 2 (Engineering Costs & Estimation): Fixed, variable, marginal, sunk, opportunity, and life-cycle costing.
- Module 3 (Cash Flow & Time Value of Money): Easy and compound interest, nominal/effective rates, and continuous compounding.
- Module 4 (Project Evaluation & Evaluation Models): Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Benefit-Cost ratio, and Payback Period calculations.




- Module 5 (Depreciation, Taxes & Replacement Analysis): Straight-line, declining balance methods, and economic life asset replacement.
- Module 6 (Cost Analysis & Inflation): Break-Even Analysis (BEP), contribution margins, price indices, and risk/uncertainty models.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver classroom lectures and tutorials according to the TINT routine.
- Draft internal assessment question papers following Outcome Based Education (OBE) and defined course outcomes.
- Evaluate student answer scripts, assignments, and submit continuous evaluation marks to the university portal.
- Mentor students for university examinations.

- Strong foundation in Engineering Economics or related areas such as Industrial Economics, Operations Research, or Financial Management for Engineers.
- Ability to design and deliver clear, structured lectures, tutorials, and assessments focused on economic analysis in engineering contexts.
- Competence in quantitative analysis, cost–benefit evaluation, and use of basic analytical or statistical tools relevant to engineering decision-making.
- Effective classroom management, learner mentoring, and academic advising skills, with a learner-centered and inclusive teaching approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to present complex economic concepts in an accessible manner.
- Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Economics, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution; Ph.D. or progress toward a Ph.D. is an added advantage.
- Prior teaching or academic experience in engineering or economics is preferred; exposure to industry projects or consultancy work is beneficial.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, contribute to curriculum improvement, and align teaching with industry partnerships and institutional goals.
