Role Overview

The SwS Travel Host acts as the primary on-ground point of contact for guests across destinations in Kerala.

The role focuses on delivering a seamless, warm and thoughtfully curated guest experience by combining hosting, coordination and cultural context. You will be responsible for welcoming and orienting travellers, ensuring smooth on-ground execution and providing reliable local insights and recommendations.

As a Host, you will work closely with local guides, partners and the SwS core team to ensure every aspect of the journey runs effortlessly.

At its core, this role is about being the cultural bridge and the steady presence that holds the entire experience together, ensuring guests feel supported, connected and deeply engaged with the places they visit.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Experience & Hosting

- Welcome and orient travellers at the start of their journey
- Ensure guests feel comfortable, supported, and well-guided
- Maintain a warm, calm, and professional presence

1. On-Ground Coordination

- Coordinate with local guides, drivers, hotels, and experience partners
- Ensure smooth execution of day-to-day itinerary
- Act as the first point of contact for guests

1. Experience Oversight

- Monitor the quality and flow of experiences
- Step in to resolve issues or disruptions calmly
- Keep SwS team informed of any updates or concerns

1. Local Knowledge & Recommendations

- Provide thoughtful recommendations (cafes, cultural spots, shopping, etc.)




- Share contextual insights about Kerala’s culture, history and lifestyle

1. Responsible Travel Alignment

- Ensure all interactions are respectful, authentic and non-exploitative
- Uphold SwS values of conscious and community-first travel

Role Nature

- Project-based engagement (activated per confirmed trip)
- You will be informed a few months in advance for assignments
- Must be fully available during assigned travel dates
- Travel across Kerala will be required

Requirements Essential

- Based in Kerala (Kochi preferred); future opportunities may extend to other parts of India
- Fluent in English; local language knowledge is an added advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly reliable and responsive

Experience

Prior experience as:

- Travel host / guide
- Trip coordinator
- Hospitality or guest relations professional

Mindset Fit

- Passion for responsible tourism
- Interest in culture, community, and conscious travel
- Ability to handle international travellers with professionalism

Compensation

- Project-based compensation, varying based on prior experience
- Final compensation will depend on:
- Experience
- Scope of engagement
- Duration of assignment
