Job Description About the Rolen We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Manager / Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a fast-paced, high-growth organization with business operations across Canada and the United States.
n This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls, ensuring timely financial reporting, and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilitiesn n Lead and supervise the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
n Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, collections and payment processes.
n Manage bank reconciliations and channel partner reconciliations.
n Oversee inventory accounting, landed cost, component accounting and PO adjustments.
n Manage General Ledger reconciliations and financial reporting.
n Handle Canadian and US sales tax filings and related compliance requirements.
n Oversee corporate credit card management, monthly statements and payments.
n Manage accounting aspects related to duty claims with CBSA and US CBP.
n Support Canadian and US corporate insurance and employee benefit accounting/administration.
n Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian accounting standards, Canadian and US tax regulations, internal policies and audit requirements.
n Develop, implement and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting policies.
n Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and increased operational efficiency.
n Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams on financial matters.
n Candidate Profilen n CPA designation or equivalent educational qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.




n 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
n Minimum 3 years of experience in a Controller, Senior Accounting Manager or similar leadership position.
n Experience in retail, multinational, multi-location or consumer products organizations will be preferred.
n Strong knowledge of:
n Financial reporting
n Inventory accounting
n General Ledger
n Reconciliations
n Internal controls
n Financial analysis
n Canadian & US taxation
n Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.
n Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
n Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
n Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
n Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
n A collaborative leadership approach with the ability to work across different levels of the organization.
n Strong focus on accuracy, process improvement and leveraging technology to improve financial operations.
