About the Rolen Untitled Production is looking for an experienced Mid-Level CGI Model Prep Artist to join our CGI/3D team on a remote basis.
n We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge of 3D model preparation, CAD conversion and optimisation, particularly for product CGI and photorealistic visualisation projects.
n The ideal candidate should be comfortable receiving raw or complex CAD/product data and preparing clean, accurate and production-ready 3D models for downstream creative teams.
n This role requires a combination of technical expertise, accuracy, problem-solving ability and strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilitiesn n Manage the end-to-end model preparation process, from receiving CAD/product data to creating production-ready 3D assets
n Convert CAD data into usable 3D formats while maintaining geometry and product accuracy
n Clean, organise and optimise models for CGI production
n Prepare and optimise 3D models in Maya according to established production guidelines
n Work with Pixyz or similar CAD conversion / optimisation tools
n Check topology, geometry, hierarchy, naming conventions and overall model structure
n Ensure models are technically suitable for texturing, shading, lighting, animation and rendering
n Optimise heavy CAD models without compromising important product details
n Perform self-QC and technical reviews before handing assets to downstream teams
n Identify and troubleshoot CAD conversion, geometry and model-related issues
n Coordinate with lighting, animation, rendering and other CGI teams when required




n Support other artists with technical guidance and model-preparation best practices
n Maintain organised project files and follow established production workflows
n Help maintain and improve model-preparation guidelines, templates and checklists
n Deliver projects accurately and within agreed timelines
n What We're Looking Forn n 4–6 years of relevant experience in CGI / 3D model preparation or product visualisation
n Strong experience working with CAD-based product models
n Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Maya
n Experience with Pixyz or similar CAD preparation/conversion software
n Robust understanding of:
n 3D geometry

n CAD conversion
n Model optimisation
n Scene organisation
n Asset preparation
n Production pipelines
n Ability to understand and maintain accurate product proportions and details
n Strong attention to technical and visual accuracy
n Ability to independently troubleshoot model-related issues

n Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
n Comfortable working remotely with production teams and artists
n Good written and spoken English communication skills

n Ability to coordinate efficiently with teams working remotely
n Importantn This position is specifically for a CGI Model Prep Artist.
n We are looking for candidates who can confidently handle the process:
n CAD Data → Conversion → Geometry Cleanup → Model Optimisation → Scene Preparation → QC → Production-Ready Asset
n Candidates with only general graphic design, motion graphics or video-editing experience without relevant CGI/model-preparation experience may not be suitable for this role.
