Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Assess, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients in OPD, IPD, emergency, and PICU settings.
- Independently assess and manage critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU within the scope of their training and hospital protocols.
- Monitor critically ill children and promptly identify signs of clinical deterioration.
- Manage pediatric emergencies and assist in resuscitation when required.
- Assist consultants and intensivists in procedures and critical-care management.
- Monitor patients receiving respiratory support, including HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, and mechanical ventilation, as applicable.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Maintain accurate patient records, clinical notes, treatment charts, and handover documentation.
- Coordinate closely with pediatric consultants, intensivists, NICU/PICU nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate appropriately with parents/attendants regarding the child's clinical condition and treatment plan.
- Follow infection-control procedures, patient-safety standards, hospital protocols, and ethical medical practices.
- Participate in clinical handovers, case discussions, emergency duties, and on-call responsibilities.

Preferred candidate profile





- MBBS with MD/DNB Pediatrics from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid medical registration is mandatory.
- Relevant PICU experience is mandatory.
- Candidate must have practical experience in handling critically ill pediatric patients in a PICU environment.
- Should be confident in patient assessment, monitoring, emergency response, and escalation of care.
- Experience with mechanically ventilated patients, HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, pediatric emergencies, and resuscitation will be preferred.
- Previous Senior Residency or hospital-based pediatric experience will be an advantage.
- Strong clinical decision-making and patient-management skills.
- Positive communication and coordination skills with consultants, nurses, and parents.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, emergency duties, and on-call responsibilities.
