: Senior Manager – Supply Chain Services – JEPL India

Position Overview

Johnson Electric is seeking a highly strategic and execution-focused Senior Manager – Supply Chain Services for our India activities and upcoming plant expansions. This role offers total end-to-end procurement ownership, including current activities as well as starting from the initial greenfield build phase and transitioning into highly governed, SOP-driven plant operations.

You will manage an annual procurement spend of INR 400 Crores across Direct, Indirect, and CAPEX/OPEX categories. This position requires a global mindset, extensive localization experience, and the ability to build robust, compliant supply chain frameworks from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing, Procurement & Localization

- Spend Management: Oversee an annual procurement budget of INR 400 Crores spanning Direct, Indirect, and Capital (CAPEX/OPEX) requirements.
- Vendor Ecosystem: Manage the complete sourcing lifecycle from domestic supplier discovery to steady-state regular supplies.
- Raw Material Development: Establish a localized Indian supplier base for core materials like Steel, Plastic Resin, and Shaft material for both domestic and export usage.
- Indirect Procurement: Direct the purchasing framework for all indirect materials, consumables, and plant services.

Quality, Governance & Process Control

- Supplier Onboarding: Lead supplier approval and qualification processes, partnering with Supplier Quality and Engineering teams on release audits.
- SOP Implementation: Design and execute India-specific Supplier Management SOPs aligned strictly with Global Johnson Electric standards.
- Audit Readiness: Ensure the local supply chain architecture meets global governance, corporate compliance, and rigorous audit standards.

Cost Optimization & Financial Stewardship

- Inflation Control:



Implement strategic buffering and hedging mechanisms to mitigate market inflation pressures.
- Cost Savings: Generate year-on-year savings through value analysis/value engineering (VAVE), aggressive negotiations, and total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions.

International Trade & Logistics

- Exim Management: Oversee import-export logistics, international freight forwarding, and complex customs documentation.
- Exim Benefits: Maximize financial efficiency by leveraging government duty-saving schemes like Advance Authorization and EPCG.

Innovation & Sustainability

- Digital Transformation: Drive the adoption of advanced digitalization tools and AI systems for predictive supply chain management.
- ESG Alignment: Implement Johnson Electric’s global sustainability and green procurement initiatives across the India plant (JEPL).

Greenfield Project & Operational Transition

- Lifecycle Ownership: Drive the supply chain scope from greenfield site start up to plant setup and potential 10x growth
- Operational Stabilization: Transition the facility from project stage to stabilized, standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Framework Design: Build the end-to-end procurement infrastructure for the new site.

Qualifications & Skills

- Experience: Minimum 25+ years of end-to-end supply chain experience, with proven experience navigating a greenfield-to-operational plant lifecycle.
- Cross-Cultural Competence: Demonstrated success working across multicultural environments and collaborating with regional teams in China, the Americas, and Europe.
- Technical Domain Expertise: Deep sourcing knowledge of manufacturing raw materials (Steel, Plastic Resins, Shaft materials) and plant CAPEX.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Indian customs, trade advantages, and statutory compliance frameworks.
- Leadership: Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder management, and team-building capabilities.
