Role Overview

As a Senior Lead (Software Engineering),



you will be the technical authority responsible for the end-to-end architecture and functionality of software systems, ensuring they meet business functional requirements and technical non-functional specifications. You will collaborate with stakeholders, developers and architects to create blueprints, choose technologies and set coding standards, while also providing guidance and support throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

High Level Design

- Develop architectural blueprints, conceptual models, and designs for software systems, ensuring they meet business needs and technical requirements.
- Proactively identify technical debt and develop design and approach to mitigate and resolve them in a timely manner.

Technology Selection
- Make decisions about the technologies, frameworks, libraries and tools to be used in a project.
- Evaluate and help conclude across internal and external choices.

SDLC Standards
- Establish and enforce coding, deployment and monitoring standards and best practices for the engineering team.

Collaboration
- Work closely with product and engineering stakeholders to define requirements and ensure alignment throughout the project.
- Help quantify the risk and impact of existing technical debt and prioritise resolving and mitigating them in a timely manner.

Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship and support to the development team.




- Define coding, security, deployment (CI/CD), and observability/monitoring standards across teams.
- Act as a force multiplier.

Documentation
- Create technical documentation to ensure the project is well-defined and understood by all stakeholders.

Skills

- Deep technical knowledge on data pipelines for AI, real time data handling, web application security, high availability systems.
- Extensive experience in software development across transactional and big data systems with a foundational understanding of various technologies and methodologies.
- Comfortable with multiple programming languages and paradigms, familiarity with relational and NoSQL data stores, streaming technology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and techniques, including Agile and Scrum.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- At least 10 years of qualified software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply).
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's Degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Python, JavaScript (TypeScript).
- 3+ years of experience with AWS or any other cloud service.
- Familiarity with project management experience - stakeholder management, delivery and timeline management.
- 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
