Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting machined components to ensure they meet customer drawings, specifications, GD&T; requirements, and quality standards. The role includes in-process, final, and incoming inspections, maintaining inspection records, and supporting continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of CNC machined components.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, process sheets, and specifications.
Measure components using precision measuring instruments such as:
Vernier Caliper
Micrometer (Inside & Outside)
Height Gauge
Bore Gauge
Dial Indicator
Thread Gauges (Plug/Ring)
Pin Gauges
Surface Roughness Tester
CMM (preferred)
Understand and inspect components based on GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Record inspection results and maintain inspection reports.
Identify and segregate non-conforming products.
Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and coordinate corrective actions.
Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI)
for current components.
Verify setup approval before production.
Ensure calibration status of measuring instruments before use.
Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain quality records as per ISO 9001/IATF/AS9100 requirements (as applicable).
Participate in internal audits and customer audits.
Ensure compliance with 5S and safety practices in the inspection area.
Coordinate with Production, Planning, and Maintenance teams to resolve quality issues.
Required Skills:
Solid knowledge of CNC machining processes (Turning, VMC, HMC).
Ability to read engineering drawings and mechanical symbols.
Good understanding of GD&T.;
Knowledge of inspection techniques and quality standards.
Familiarity with SPC, 7 QC Tools, and basic problem-solving methods.
Computer knowledge (MS Excel, Word, ERP is an advantage).
Valuable communication and reporting skills.
