Senior Software Engineer, Chennai

The Backend Software Engineerwithin the NIQ Activate R&D; organization is a senior individual contributor role responsible for designing, developing, and scaling backend services that power innovative product solutions for our growing customer base. Working in a collaborative and innovation-driven environment, you will leverage modern cloud-native technologies, microservices architectures, and AI-assisted development tools to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance solutions while influencing technical direction, architecture, and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing micro-services from design to production.
Take ownership of development, maintenance, testing strategy, design discussions, and operations of the team, with containerized API services
Participate in all aspects of agile software development including design, implementation, and deployment.
Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of recent product features / components
Work with a small,



cross-functional team on products and features to drive growth.
Learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies to grow
Research and suggest new technologies for boosting the product.
Have an impact on product development by making key technical decisions, influencing the system architecture, development practices and more.

Qualifications
A Must have B.Sc. in Computer Sciences or similar
At least 6+ years of experience in Java backend development
Profound knowledge in OOP and design patterns
Experience and knowledge of server-side technologies such as Java, Spring
Experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes and Cloud environments
Expertise in testing methodologies (Unit-testing, TDD, mocking)
Fluent with Relational databases (SQL)
Good problem-solving and analysis abilities
Excellent team player with robust communication skills
