Responsibilities
Use finite element analysis and other analytical tools to develop products that meet internal and/or external customer requirements
Support and enhance processes and procedures significant to product development
Translate product requirements into product design features
Work in a team environment towards bringing recent product technologies to market
Strong communication skills [written/oral] in presenting data and information to others
Contribute to ideas for new computational tools in the prediction of tire performance
Mentor / coach associates in the development of technical capabilities

Education
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred - Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Requirements:
4+ years of progressive experience required using finite element methodologies.:
Valuable knowledge of structural mechanics/dynamics and/or fluid dynamics:
Good knowledge of Finite Element Analysis fundamentals, especially nonlinear FEA
Working knowledge of FEA tools such as Abaqus, Ansys etc.




Programming or scripting skills such as Python etc. are considered a plus.
Basic applied statistics, Design of Experiments and multi-regression modeling, cause-and-effect analysis, risk analysis, lean principles
Ability to accomplish assignments in a logical fashion, using existing technology and standardized methodologies
Demonstrates strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving, emphasizing cooperative teamwork
Ability to form strong working relationships with Goodyear associates (Global & cross-functional) and customers
Effectively communicates and sells ideas related to project requirements and goals
Ability to adapt to new challenges
Develop clear and concise technical reports summarizing highlights and making recommendations for logical next steps
