- Verify GSM, moisture content, and supplier certificates/COAs prior to releasing materials for production
- Identify and flag/reject non-conforming materials in line with SOPs
In-Process Quality Checks
- Monitor the PE extrusion coating/lamination process, checking coating thickness (GSM), adhesion strength, gloss, and uniformity
- Carry out periodic checks during printing, slitting, cutting, and converting operations
- Identify defects such as pinholes, uneven coating, delamination, print misregistration, and web breaks
- Ensure machine parameters — temperature, speed, and tension — remain within specified limits
Finished Goods Inspection
- Test finished products for seal strength, leak-proof performance (for cups/containers), dimensional accuracy, and visual quality
- Conduct sample testing, including burst strength, tensile strength, Cobb test (water absorbency), and heat seal strength
- Approve or reject batches prior to dispatch based on quality parameters
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and batch traceability
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain QC checklists, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as FSSAI, ISO, and BRC for food-grade packaging
