Description:

Area(s) of responsibility

1. Requirement Analysis:

- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for Power BI development.

1. Data Modeling:

- Design and create data models within Power BI, including importing and transforming data from various sources.
- Optimize data models for performance and efficiency.

1. Data Visualization:

- Develop visually compelling and interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Choose appropriate visualizations to effectively communicate insights.

1. DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) Coding:

- Write complex DAX formulas to create calculated columns, measures, and calculated tables.
- Perform data analysis and manipulation using DAX functions.

1. Data Integration:

- Integrate Power BI with various data sources, databases, and other data platforms.
- Implement data refresh and ensure up-to-date information in Power BI reports.

1. Data Cleansing and Transformation:

- Cleanse and transform data as needed for reporting purposes.
- Handle data cleansing, normalization, and enrichment to ensure data quality.

1. Power Query Development:

- Utilize Power Query to shape and transform data before loading it into Power BI.
- Create custom queries and expressions to meet specific data requirements.

1. Performance Optimization:





- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Optimize data models, queries, and visualizations for better performance.

1. Security Configuration:

- Implement security measures in Power BI, including role-level security (RLS) and row-level security.
- Ensure compliance with data security policies and regulations.

1. Integration with Other Systems:

- Integrate Power BI with other Microsoft products and third-party applications.
- Ensure seamless data flow between Power BI and connected systems.

1. Automation and Scripting:

- Develop scripts and automate repetitive tasks within Power BI.
- Implement scheduled data refreshes and updates.

1. Documentation:

- Maintain comprehensive documentation for Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
- Document best practices, data sources, and any custom code.

1. Testing:

- Conduct unit testing to validate the accuracy and functionality of Power BI reports.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to perform system and integration testing.

1. Troubleshooting and Support:

- Identify and resolve issues related to Power BI development and report generation.
- Provide support to end-users and address inquiries related to Power BI functionality.

1. Training:

- Provide training to end-users on using Power BI tools and accessing reports and dashboards.
- Offer guidance on best practices for utilizing Power BI features.

1. Collaboration:

- Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and other developers to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with IT teams, database administrators, and system administrators for seamless integration.
