Role & Responsibilities
- Perform complex pediatric surgical procedures—including thoracic, abdominal, urological, and oncologic interventions—with precision and minimal invasiveness.
- Lead pre- and post-operative care coordination across neonatal ICU, anesthesia, and pediatric subspecialties to ensure optimal recovery pathways.
- Collaborate with radiologists and geneticists to diagnose and plan surgeries for congenital anomalies like esophageal atresia, Hirschsprung’s, or neural tube defects.
- Participate in emergency pediatric trauma protocols, including thoracotomy, laparotomy, and vascular repairs in critical care settings.
- Mentor junior surgeons and medical students through operative supervision, case reviews, and simulation-based training modules.
- Contribute to institutional research on surgical outcomes, innovate instrumentation, and adopt AI-assisted surgical planning where applicable.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must-Have
- MBBS with MCh/DNB in Pediatric Surgery from a recognized Indian or NMC-approved institution
- Valid NMC registration with active clinical license
- Proven experience in neonatal and pediatric general surgery (minimum 3 years post-fellowship)
- Expertise in minimally invasive pediatric laparoscopy and thoracoscopy
- Proficiency in managing pediatric trauma, burns, and oncologic resections
- Strong command of pediatric ICU protocols and post-op complication management
- ACLSTB or equivalent pediatric advanced life support certification
- Familiarity with pediatric surgical audit tools and outcomes benchmarking systems
- Preferred
- Experience with robotic-assisted pediatric surgery (da Vinci or similar platforms)
- Published work in peer-reviewed pediatric surgical journals
- International fellowship or training in high-volume pediatric surgical centers
