Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced L2 Linux Administrator responsible for managing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Linux server environments. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Linux administration, incident management, server troubleshooting, and system performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform L2 administration and troubleshooting of Linux servers.
- Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS/Rocky Linux/Ubuntu environments.
- Troubleshoot server, OS, filesystem, boot, process, and performance-related issues.
- Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, sudo access, and SSH.
- Perform file system and storage management, including LVM, mounting, and disk utilization.
- Monitor CPU, memory, disk, processes, and overall server performance.
- Troubleshoot network-related issues such as connectivity, DNS, routing, ports, and services.
- Manage and troubleshoot Linux services using systemd/systemctl.
- Perform patching, package installation, upgrades, and security updates.
- Monitor and manage logs using tools such as journalctl, /var/log, and other monitoring solutions.
- Handle incidents, service requests,



and change requests as per defined SLA.
- Perform server health checks and participate in backup and recovery activities.
- Troubleshoot application/server dependency issues and coordinate with application, database, network, and security teams.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Participate in 24x7 rotational shifts/on-call support, if required.

Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Linux Administration L2.
- Good knowledge of RHEL/Linux operating systems.
- Linux troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
- LVM, filesystem, NFS, SSH, FTP/SFTP.
- User, group, permissions, ACL and sudo administration.
- Package management using YUM/DNF/RPM/APT.
- Process and service management.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, ports and networking.
- Shell scripting basics.
- Log analysis and troubleshooting.
- Server patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Knowledge of ITIL, Incident, Problem and Change Management.

Good to Have
- Experience with VMware/virtualization.
- Knowledge of AWS/Azure cloud environments.
- Exposure to monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Dynatrace or similar.
- Knowledge of Ansible or other automation tools.
- Exposure to security hardening and CIS benchmarks.
- Knowledge of high availability/clustering concepts.
