Senior Full Stack Developer
Company: Reward360 (R360) Global Services
Location: Bangalore (in office)
Experience: 5+ years
Reports to: Founder's Office / Engineering Lead
Stack: Django · PostgreSQL · React · TypeScript · AWS
## About R360
R360 builds the loyalty, rewards and customer engagement platform behind some of India's largest card issuers — HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Standard Chartered, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank — as well as enterprise clients across BFSI and consumer brands. We are not a rewards catalogue; we run commerce, points and engagement infrastructure at scale, inside regulated environments where correctness, auditability and uptime are non-negotiable.
This role sits close to the Founder's Office in a deliberately small, high-ownership team. You will ship to production, not to a backlog queue.
## What you'll do
- Design and build end-to-end features across a Django/PostgreSQL backend and a React/TypeScript frontend — from data model to deployed UI.
- Write and own APIs consumed by bank-side systems, mobile apps and partner integrations, including versioning, contracts and backward compatibility.
- Model and optimise transactional data in PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, query tuning, migrations on live tables without downtime.
- Own your services on AWS — deployment, observability, cost and failure modes — with the platform team, not thrown over a wall to it.
- Work directly with product, design and client-facing teams to translate ambiguous bank requirements into scoped, shippable work.
- Raise the engineering bar: code review, tests where they earn their keep, documentation that survives your absence.
- Debug production issues in a regulated, high-volume environment where a wrong number is a customer-facing incident.
- Must have
- 5+ years building and shipping production web applications as a full stack engineer.
- Django — strong command of the ORM, DRF, middleware, auth,
migrations, Celery or equivalent async task processing.
- PostgreSQL — you can read a query plan, design a normalised schema, and know when to break normalisation deliberately.
- React + TypeScript — component architecture, state management, typed API layers, performance in real-world (not demo) apps.
- AWS — hands-on with EC2/ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch; comfortable with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
- Solid fundamentals: HTTP, REST, authentication/authorisation, caching, concurrency, idempotency.
- Git-based workflows, code review discipline, and the ability to work in a codebase you didn't write.
- Clear written communication — you can explain a technical trade-off to a non-engineer in three sentences.
## Good to have
- Experience in BFSI, fintech, payments or loyalty — or any domain with money movement, reconciliation and audit trails.
- Docker/Kubernetes, Terraform, or event-driven architecture (SQS/Kafka).
- Payment gateway, card network, or bank API integrations.
- Comfort using LLM-based tooling (Claude Code, Copilot) to move faster without shipping code you can't defend.
- Contributions to open source, or a side project you can walk us through.
## What we look for
- Ownership over scope. You take a problem to done, including the unglamorous last 20%.
- Judgement about trade-offs. You know when to build properly and when to ship and iterate — and you can say which one you chose and why.
- Directness. You flag risk early, disagree with reasons, and don't pad status updates.
- Care about correctness. In our domain, "mostly right" is a defect.
## Why this role
- Small team, direct line to the founders, visible impact on a platform used by millions of banking customers.
- Real scale and real constraints — regulated clients, high transaction volumes, integrations that cannot break.
- Breadth by design: you will touch data modelling, API design, frontend and infrastructure, not one narrow slice of a large org chart.
