About the Role

Mercure Homes is looking for a creative and research-oriented AI-Assisted Design & Research Intern who is interested in furniture, interiors, design trends, and artificial intelligence.

The intern will work closely with the design and management teams to research furniture trends, develop design concepts, analyse competitors, prepare product information, and use AI tools such as Claude to make research and design workflows faster and more effective.

You don't need to be an AI expert. We are looking for someone who is creative, curious, good at research, and willing to learn how to use AI tools effectively.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct research on furniture, interior design, materials, finishes, colours, and emerging design trends.
- Use Claude and other AI tools for research, idea generation, analysis, and documentation.
- Assist the design team in developing new furniture concepts and design directions.
- Create mood-board concepts and references based on given design requirements.
- Research competitor furniture brands, collections, designs, materials, and market trends.
- Study international furniture and interior design trends and prepare research reports.
- Convert rough design ideas and requirements into structured concepts using AI-assisted workflows.
- Prepare product descriptions, specifications, and design documentation.
- Assist in creating presentations for new furniture collections and concepts.
- Develop effective AI prompts for design research, ideation, and content generation.




- Organise research, references, images, product information, and design data.
- Support the team in identifying new materials, finishes, styles, and furniture categories.
- Verify AI-generated information through reliable sources before presenting it to the team.
- Assist with other research and design-related tasks assigned by the management/design team.

Required Skills
- Strong interest in furniture, interior design, architecture, fashion, or visual design.
- Good research and analytical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.
- Ability to write transparent and effective AI prompts.
- Creative thinking and an eye for design.
- Good knowledge of Google Docs, Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Canva.
- Ability to organise information clearly and present findings in a simple manner.
- Willingness to learn new AI tools and technologies.

Good to Have
- Pursuing or completed a degree/diploma in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Product Design, Architecture, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of furniture materials such as wood, veneer, laminate, marble, metal, glass, fabrics, etc.
- Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Photoshop, Figma, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino or other design software.
- Experience with AI image-generation or design tools.
- Basic understanding of premium/luxury furniture and interior design.

Pay: ₹3,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month
