Design Engineer (Electrical)

Position: Design Engineer – Electrical

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with solid exposure to industrial projects, process plants and EPC engineering The candidate should be capable of handling electrical design activities from basic engineering and design through material estimation, vendor coordination, procurement support and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and prepare LV electrical distribution schemes for industrial/process plants.
- Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and MCC specifications in accordance with applicable standards.
- Prepare detailed electrical layouts for process areas, equipment and plant facilities.
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM), material estimates and electrical erection requirements.
- Prepare material requisitions and support purchase/procurement activities.
- Coordinate with MCC, motor and electrical equipment vendors, including review of vendor drawings and technical documents.
- Carry out technical evaluation of vendor offers against the project design basis.
- Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement and site teams for smooth execution.
- Support electrical installation, commissioning and resolution of site-related design issues.
- Prepare electrical documentation and ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.




- Handle electrical engineering activities independently for assigned plant/process areas.

Desired Experience

- 8–12 years of experience in Electrical Design Engineering.
- Experience in process plants, industrial projects, EPC or engineering consultancy environments.
- Experience in LV distribution, MCCs, SLDs, electrical layouts, cable sizing and material estimation.
- Exposure to vendor coordination, technical bid evaluation and site/project coordination.
- Experience in industries such as Distillery, Brewery, Ethanol, Bio-energy, Food & Beverage, Chemical or other process industries would be advantageous.

Education B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a reputed engineering institution.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer who can independently handle engineering deliverables while coordinating effectively with vendors, procurement, project and site teams. Experience of working on greenfield industrial/process projects would be particularly relevant.

The candidate's Praj experience included LV distribution design, MCC/SLD design, electrical layouts with BOM, material estimation, SAP purchase orders, vendor coordination and independent responsibility for electrical activities for the Water Department from proposal through commissioning.
