Role Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Lead Data Scientist who can combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building analytics solutions while also mentoring a team, driving technical excellence, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver high-impact commercial analytics solutions for global pharmaceutical clients. The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable writing production-ready code, designing scalable analytical frameworks, reviewing team deliverables, and leading projects from concept to implementation.

Role & responsibilities

What You'll Do

- Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics solutions across commercial pharma use cases.
- Provide technical direction to a team of data scientists and analysts, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reusable solutions.
- Review code, analytical methodologies, and model outputs to maintain engineering and analytical standards.
- Establish best practices for data science development, model governance, documentation, and version control.
- Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing modern AI/ML techniques, including Generative AI applications.

Hands-on Analytics & Data Science
- Build and optimize models across:
- HCP Targeting & Segmentation
- Territory Sizing & Alignment
- Sales Force Effectiveness
- Patient-Based & ML Forecasting
- Patient Journey & Access Analytics
- Marketing Analytics & Campaign Effectiveness
- Omnichannel Analytics
- Work extensively with Python, SQL, Spark, and large-scale healthcare datasets (claims, CRM, specialty pharmacy, formulary, EMR, etc.).
- Perform feature engineering, model development, validation, and performance optimization.




- Design scalable data pipelines and reusable analytical frameworks.
- Build AI-powered solutions, including RAG pipelines, LLM-based insight generation, and intelligent automation where applicable.

Team Leadership & Delivery
- Mentor and coach junior data scientists, providing technical guidance and career development support.
- Lead project planning, task allocation, effort estimation, and delivery management.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time with high quality and business impact.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering, Product, Commercial Operations, and Business Consulting.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and solution quality.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate complex commercial problems into analytical solutions.
- Present insights and recommendations to internal leadership and client teams.
- Support solution design, proposal development, and innovation initiatives for new business opportunities.

Preferred candidate profile

- 4-6 years of experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or Machine Learning.
- Strong experience leading or mentoring analytics teams while remaining hands-on.
- Expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, and modern ML frameworks.
- Strong understanding of statistics, machine learning, forecasting, segmentation, optimization, and predictive analytics.




- Experience working with large healthcare/pharma commercial datasets.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and contemporary data architectures is preferred.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG architectures, or AI copilots is a strong advantage.
