As a Data Modeler, a typical day involves engaging closely with various stakeholders including business representatives, data owners, end users, application designers, and data architects. The role focuses on understanding existing data structures and designing new data models that align with business needs and technical requirements. This position requires continuous collaboration to ensure data models are accurate, effective, and support organizational goals.

The Data

Modeler plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technical implementation by facilitating clear communication and thorough analysis of data requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead efforts to ensure data models meet both current and future business needs.




- Facilitate knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team to enhance overall capabilities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align data modeling activities with broader project goals.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Ontology & taxonomy design (hierarchical, faceted, polyhierarchical structures)
- Metadata schema development (Dublin Core, Schema.org, custom schemas)
- Controlled vocabulary management and thesaurus construction (SKOS, ISO 25964)
- Knowledge graph modeling (RDF, OWL, SPARQL)
- Information architecture and classification theory
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Data Modeling Techniques and Methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
- Experience with relational and dimensional data modeling concepts.
- Ability to work with data architecture frameworks and standards.
- Familiarity with database design principles and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- ETL and data wrangling for taxonomy ingestion
- Search relevance tuning — understanding how taxonomies feed into search indexes (Elasticsearch, Solr)

Additional Information
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Data Modeling Techniques and Methodologies.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
