Summary

JOB SUMMARY (Primary purpose of the position.)

The Consulting Integration Engineer provides technical and development leadership within the Enterprise Integration at HCA.

Primary duties include architecting recent and innovative approaches to systems integration, leading teams of engineers in the development and implementation of the systems, and working with other architects, developers and teams that would be consumers of the platform.

Due to the high volume and criticality of the data our department processes, our solutions require high availability, resiliency and redundancy. To achieve this goal, our solutions must utilize high levels of parallel processing in multiple datacenters, and candidates for this role must have experience architecting and building highly parallelized solutions utilizing functional programming techniques.

Duties

Daily duties for the Consulting Integration Platform Engineer include:

- Take a consulting role on assigned projects, making architectural and design recommendations to business owners and technical team members, and make architectural course corrections as necessary for project success
- Manage development projects from inception to elaboration, development, testing,



and implementation with the help of other assigned resources, and utilizing department-standard integration and development tools.
- Seek opportunities to improve department processes and technology, and lead efforts to evaluate, propose and implement solutions with direction from management
- Design and develop CI/CD and testing automation processes
- Perform development using HCA standards and procedures, maintaining code and version control through Azure DevOps, GitHub, and/or other such tools as management determines.
- Take a lead role with other engineers on the team, providing guidance on software architecture, design decisions, and general technical mentoring.
- Completing Unit Testing and lead in Peer/Code Reviews of other developers work.
- Providing advanced troubleshooting user support working with end users at all levels of the organization.

- Demonstrate proficiency in JavaScript, C# and/or Functional Programming (Erlang/Elixir prefered)
- Demonstrate knowledge of micro-service development using RESTful principles, WCF, JSON and XML
- Knowledge of healthcare integration standards such as HL7 and FHIR
- Knowledge of integration engines such as Cloverleaf, BizTalk is desirable
- Knowledge of queuing engines such as Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ
- Development tools: Azure DevOps, VisualStudio
- Development Technologies: Javascript/JQuery/Ajax/JSON, Vue.js, Node.js, HTML 5, CSS, C#
- Database Technologies: SQL (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Cosmos DB, CouchBase, MongoDB, etc.) databases
