About Compliance:

Compliance department assists the Board and Top Management in managing the compliance risk, arising out of legal or regulatory sanctions, financial loss that the Bank may suffer on account of its failure to comply with the applicable laws, regulations or code of conduct applicable to banking activities. This entails adherence to guidelines issued by regulators (Reserve Bank of India, Securities and Exchange Board of India etc.), statutory provisions under various legislations (BR Act, FEMA, RBI Act, etc.). This also required adherence to Bank’s internal policies and code of conduct.

About the Role:

The official shall be responsible for providing compliance advisory support and overseeing the Compliance Risk Management for Treasury functions and Market Risk.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory adherence / monitoring implementation:

- Assessment of applicable regulatory guidelines and identifying the actions emanating from these guidelines
- Ensuring that changes in applicable regulatory guidelines are promptly disseminated, along with actionable to the concerned business units / departments for implementation
- Driving timely implementation of regulatory changes across assigned business, risk and support units

Compliance Advisory / Consultative Role:
- Being trusted & learned advisor - Advising business units on processes / controls from compliance standpoint to ensure adherence to applicable regulatory guidelines and Providing clarification on any compliance related issues and monitoring of resolution thereof
- Engaging with regulatory authorities to facilitate discussions and/or seek specific guidance on critical matters including interpretation of regulatory guidelines




- Reviewing new products / change in product features, as a part of PMC/CMC, to be in alignment with applicable regulatory guidelines
- Review of policies / internal circulars or guidelines from compliance perspective, and challenge constructively & provide guidance to business and/or product teams
- Driving Compliance Culture & Conduct through various measures incl. through assistance in development and administration of compliance training to business & support units
- Assisting and/or Advising Business in compliance of supervisory observations in both letter and spirit, in timebound and sustainable manner

Compliance Monitoring / Risk Assessment:
- Driving an effective compliance risk management program through formulation of policies, review of relevant MIS and timely escalation of issues
- Consistently monitoring the effectiveness of processes / controls through Key Compliance Indicators (KCIs), Compliance testing
- Identifying non-compliance / regulatory breaches through various sources like RBI RAR, Internal Audit, Operational Risk Reports, Compliance Testing etc., and Advising business in carrying out root cause analysis and remediation plan
- Conducting annual compliance risk assessment and identifying critical units / focus areas for mitigation of compliance risk




- Regular meetings with the business unit heads to discuss compliance matters / open issues
- Be a learned leader in supporting compliance testing team and RBS compliance team for driving compliance agenda, and conducting testing of regulations / processes/ controls whenever required

Reporting to Board / ACB / Governance forums:
- Reporting and Updating the Board / Audit Committee of the Board on important regulations, regulatory developments and non-compliances / regulatory breaches observed in assigned businesses
- Participating in governance forums to advise business from compliance standpoint

Qualifications: Optimal qualification for success on the job is:

- Chartered Accountant, MBA / PGDM, Post Graduate with relevant background/ job experience of 6-18 years in Treasury functions/ Market Risk and/or compliance domain.
- Additional certifications in domain area / risk / compliance would be preferred.

Role Proficiencies: For successful execution of the job, the candidate should possess the following:

- Knowledge and expertise on regulatory matters related to Investments, Forex, Derivatives, Liquidity related prudential norms, Market Risk etc.
- Positive analytical skills and having eye for detail, with efficient and quick decision making
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong inter-personal skills to work collaboratively with people across all levels of organization
- Excellent project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple tasks
- Networking with the Industry players and adopt best practices and understanding.
