Position: Commis (Kitchen)

Location: Ginger Jorhat

Department: Food & Beverage Production

Reporting To: Sous Chef / Chef de Partie / Head Chef

Salary Range: ₹16,000 – ₹18,000 per month

Job Purpose To assist the kitchen team in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining hygiene standards while ensuring timely delivery of quality food to guests in accordance with hotel standards.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation

- Assist chefs in preparation of ingredients for daily operations.
- Perform basic cooking tasks as assigned by senior chefs.
- Ensure proper portioning, storage, and handling of food items.
- Support buffet, à la carte, and banquet food production as required.

Kitchen Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.
- Ensure kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored properly.
- Follow standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Assist in receiving and storing supplies according to FIFO standards.

Hygiene & Safety
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain personal grooming and hygiene as per company policy.
- Follow health, safety, and fire prevention procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunction or safety concerns immediately.

Inventory Support




- Assist in stock rotation and inventory checks.
- Minimize wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Help maintain adequate stock levels for smooth kitchen operations.

Qualification & Experience
- Minimum 10th Pass / 12th Pass.
- Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management, Food Production, or Culinary Arts preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in a hotel, restaurant, or commercial kitchen.
- Freshers with relevant culinary training may also apply.

Skills Required
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
