Pattern Master – Job Description (JD)

Job Title: Pattern Master

Reports To: Production Manager / Technical Manager

Job Summary:
The Pattern Master is responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining accurate garment patterns according to design specifications, measurements, fit requirements, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop patterns for current garment styles based on sketches, samples, and specifications.
Create and modify patterns for different sizes using grading techniques.
Prepare accurate patterns for cutting and bulk production.
Conduct fit checks and make necessary pattern corrections.
Work closely with designers, merchandisers, sampling, and production teams.
Develop patterns for samples and pre-production garments.
Ensure patterns meet measurement charts, construction requirements, and quality standards.
Maintain pattern records, revisions, and size specifications.
Identify and resolve fitting, construction,



and pattern-related issues.
Minimize fabric consumption through productive pattern placement and optimization.
Coordinate with the CAD team when patterns are created or modified digitally.
Ensure patterns are production-ready before bulk manufacturing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree or relevant technical qualification in Garment Technology, Fashion Design, or Apparel Production.
3–8 years of experience as a Pattern Master in the garment industry.
Robust knowledge of garment construction, measurements, fitting, and grading.
Experience with manual pattern making and/or CAD pattern-making systems.
Good understanding of fabrics, shrinkage, allowances, and garment specifications.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under production deadlines.
