Prithvi Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), an animal welfare NGO in Kovalam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is looking for a responsible, organised and proactive Animal Welfare Manager to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our animal welfare activities.

This is a dynamic role that combines field work, team coordination, planning and daily operations management. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in an animal welfare environment, coordinating with different people and handling multiple responsibilities throughout the day.

At PAWS, no two days are exactly the same. You will be responsible for ensuring that the day's work is properly organised, teams are coordinated and daily activities are carried out smoothly.

Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the organisation.
- Plan, organise and coordinate the activities and priorities for each day.
- Coordinate with shelter staff, caretakers, veterinarians, paravets, feeders, drivers and other team members.
- Ensure that daily animal care, feeding, treatment, rescue and other operational activities are properly coordinated.
- Visit and monitor field activities whenever required.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, vendors, volunteers and other individuals connected with PAWS.
- Follow up with team members and ensure that assigned tasks are completed on time.
- Identify operational issues and take initiative to find practical solutions.
- Maintain proper communication between different teams and departments.
- Help organise schedules,



resources, staff requirements and daily logistics.
- Ensure that the overall operations of the shelter and field activities run smoothly and efficiently.
- Report important operational updates and challenges to the management.

Requirements
- Any Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
- Previous experience as a Manager in a small company or organisation is mandatory.
- Strong organisational and people-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities and priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable with a role that involves both field work and office/administrative coordination.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to take ownership, make decisions and solve day-to-day operational problems.
- Comfortable working with different types of people and coordinating teams.
- A genuine interest in dogs and cats is mandatory.
- Interest in animal welfare and a willingness to work in an animal shelter environment.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
