Accounts Executive

Salary: 30,000 to 35,000 per month (INR)

Location: Oshiwara - Andheri West, Mumbai

Schedule: Full time, office-based | Monday to Saturday - 10am to 6:30pm

About the Role

We are looking for a smart, diligent and commercially aware Accounts Executive to join our growing fashion and ecommerce business.

This is a hands-on accounting role for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining order and helping a fast-moving business make better financial decisions.

You will work closely with the Founder and management team, taking responsibility for accurate day-to-day accounting while supporting monthly reporting, cash-flow planning, inventory costing and cost-control initiatives.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership, asks thoughtful questions and does not wait for every task to be assigned. You should be comfortable identifying discrepancies, following up on missing information and highlighting potential issues early.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate bookkeeping, ledgers and supporting financial records
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare and track supplier payments and customer receivables
- Complete bank, payment-gateway and transaction reconciliations
- Process payroll, reimbursements and related records
- Maintain inventory records and assist with landed-cost calculations
- Support monthly closing and the preparation of management reports
- Assist with cash-flow forecasting and budgeting
- Review expenses and identify errors, duplicate costs or unusual movements
- Research suppliers and support management with quotations and cost negotiations
- Help maintain organised financial documentation for statutory and year-end reporting
- Work with the Founder to identify gaps and improve financial processes
- Use AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to improve reporting,



reconciliation and everyday workflows
- Learn and follow new systems as the business continues to grow

Skills and Experience

- Degree in accounting, commerce, finance or a closely related field
- Approximately 24 years of practical accounting experience
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, receivable and bank reconciliations
- Proficiency in Tally and Microsoft Excel
- Experience supporting monthly closing and financial reporting
- Strong numerical ability and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to maintain accurate and well-organised records
- Confidence communicating discrepancies and following up with different teams
- Willingness to learn Shopify, ecommerce payment systems and AI-assisted workflows
- Experience in fashion, ecommerce, retail or manufacturing is advantageous but not essential
