Required Technical Skill Set Solid Knowledge of Network Routing, Switching & Security

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency
Strong network administration and troubleshooting skills.
Good Understanding and troubleshooting skills of TCP/IP, Switching &Routing; protocols, MPLS, Load balancing
Knowledge and experience in STP, VTP, HSRP, VLAN, QoS and other switching technologies
Good Knowledge and experience on Cisco Wireless Controllers.
Basic exposure to firewalls (Cisco ASA / Palo Alto / Checkpoint).
Excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to work with multiple geographically dispersed teams
Excellent listening skills & ability to communicate clearly and fluently in English
Flexibility to work in shifts for 24x7 support

Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role

1 Handle L2 incidents and service requests related to routing, switching, wireless, and firewall issues.

2 Troubleshoot network problems involving TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, routing protocols (BGP/EIGRP), and LAN/WAN connectivity.

3 Perform basic configuration tasks on Cisco routers, switches, and wireless controllers under L3 guidance.

4 Monitor health and performance of network devices, links, and circuits using NMS tools.

5 Analyze logs and events to resolve issues with switches, routers, firewalls, and WLAN access points.

6 Support L1 engineers through guided troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.

7 Escalate complex or recurring issues to L3 and follow through till closure.

8 Maintain documentation, SOPs, and update knowledge base articles.

9 Provide support in a 24x7 shift-based setting
