Junior Engineer (Design) – Viaduct, Kochi

SYSTRA India, a global leader in engineering and consulting for public transport infrastructure, is looking for a Junior Engineer (Design) specializing in Viaducts for the Kochi Metro Project. With over 60 years of expertise and a valuable presence in India since 1957, SYSTRA is committed to technical excellence and improving transportation and urban infrastructure efficiency.

SYSTRA has been a key partner in over 80% of metro projects across major Indian cities, including Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Kochi. As the General Consultant (GC) for Phase-II of the Kochi Metro Rail Project, SYSTRA offers a unique chance to contribute to this transformative infrastructure development.

Missions/Main Duties

As a Junior Engineer (Design) for Viaducts, you'll be responsible for:

- Reviewing previous and ongoing related studies and data collected for the project.
- Reviewing and approving conceptual drawings for viaducts, at-grade sections, underground structures, special bridges (like crossovers or long spans), stations, and other structures submitted by contractors.
- Reviewing and approving all designs, drawings, modifications, and calculations submitted by contractors.
- Reviewing all civil and structural designs submitted by contractors, including calculations, drawings, and specifications,



as per contractual provisions.
- Coordinating with all experts/staff related to Civil, Structural, Building, Architectural works, and Systems.
- Performing other tasks as assigned by the Team Leader.

Profile/Skills

- Education: Post Graduate (M.E./M. Tech) in Structural Engineering from a reputed institution.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant field, out of which at least 2 years of experience should be in a similar role in the design of elevated Metro Rail projects / rail-based transit elevated viaduct projects.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in STAAD, MIDAS, and AutoCAD is essential.
- Communication: Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Collaboration: Ability to work within a culturally diverse organization, recognizing and respecting differences.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to solve problems, especially in an integrated project delivery setting, applying industry best practices.
- Leadership Qualities: A self-motivated individual with outstanding leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority.
