JOB DESCRIPTION

Key areas of responsibility:

1. To receive the patient for surgery and verify their identification.
2. To check the patient files for proper documentation.
3. To prepare the patient for surgery.
4. To assist doctors during the surgery.
5. To check and update the emergency medicines, oxygen and other drugs in the Operation Theatre.
6. To sterilize and look after the maintenance of all the equipments in the Operation Theatre.
7. To look after and maintain the proper sterilization practices in the Operation Theatre.
8. To follow the infection control guidelines in the Operation Theatre.
9. To give priority to emergency cases and to co-ordinate with the consultants / respective department for the same.
10. To maintain appropriate departmental documentation.
11. To treat all communication about patients, staff,



and other organizational business confidentially.
12. To be involved in quality Assurance / Quality control activities.
13. To perform all the jobs as may be assigned due to exigencies of work.
14. Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key areas of responsibility:

1. To receive the patient for surgery and verify their identification.

2. To check the patient files for proper documentation.

3. To prepare the patient for surgery.

4. To ensure anesthesia carts are supplied and machines are up to date prior to the beginning of the surgery schedule and between procedures. Checks and replaces anesthesia gas cylinders as needed.

5. To check and update the emergency medicines, medical gas back up in Operation Theatre.

6. To perform daily anesthesia equipment inspections including suction, electrical plugs, gas connections, oxygen and nitrous oxide cylinders

7. To assists anesthesiologists in care of patients before, during, and immediately after anesthesia which involves the following:

-Transfer of patients from stretchers to operating table

- attachment of vital signs monitoring equipment

- Positioning and hold patients for procedures, i.e spinal, epidurals

-Assist in endotracheal intubations by preparing and holding equipment
