Job Description
Safety Engineer – Good Earth Capital Crest,
Delhi Role Purpose Ensure that all construction activities at Good Earth Capital Crest are executed without fatalities, injuries or uncontrolled safety risks. The Safety Engineer will lead site safety implementation across employees, contractors, labour, visitors and vendors. The role has authority to stop any unsafe activity and escalate serious or repeated violations to the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Safety Control
● Conduct daily safety inspections across all active work fronts. ● Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and high-risk activities. ● Stop any activity presenting immediate danger to people or property. ● Ensure corrective actions are assigned, tracked and closed. ● Escalate repeated or serious violations to the Project Manager.
2. High-Risk Work Management Ensure proper controls before starting: ● Work at height ● Scaffolding ● Lifting and crane operations ● Excavation ● Electrical work ● Hot work ● Confined-space work ● Material handling and heavy equipment movement Verify permits, competency, PPE, barricading, supervision and emergency readiness.
3. PPE Compliance ● Define PPE requirements for each activity. ● Conduct daily PPE compliance checks. ● Stop workers without mandatory PPE from continuing work. ● Track repeat violations contractor-wise. ● Ensure adequate PPE stock, quality and replacement. 4. Safety Training and Induction ● Ensure 100% site induction before anyone begins work. ● Conduct daily toolbox talks for active work teams. ● Organise specialised training for high-risk activities. ● Maintain attendance and competency records. ● Verify that supervisors understand and enforce safe work methods.
5. Near-Miss and Incident Management ● Build a culture where near misses are actively reported. ● Investigate all incidents, injuries and significant near misses. ● Identify root causes rather than only blaming individuals.
● Define corrective and preventive actions. ● Share lessons learned across contractors and work fronts. ● Track actions until verified closure.
6. Contractor Safety Governance ● Review contractor safety plans before mobilisation. ● Assess contractor supervisors and safety manpower. ● Conduct contractor safety audits and review meetings. ● Issue warnings and recommend penalties for repeated violations. ● Support contractors in improving weak safety systems.
7. Fire and Emergency Preparedness ● Maintain emergency response plans for fire, injury, collapse and evacuation. ● Ensure fire extinguishers, first-aid facilities and emergency access are available. ● Conduct periodic mock drills. ● Display emergency contacts and evacuation routes. ● Coordinate with security, project and facility teams during emergencies.
8. Labour Welfare and Environmental Compliance ● Monitor drinking water, toilets, rest areas and basic labour welfare. ● Control dust, debris, waste disposal, noise and pollution. ● Ensure safe storage of fuel, chemicals and hazardous materials. ● Maintain compliance records required by authorities. ● Flag any environmental or labour-related non-compliance immediately.
9. Safety Reporting Submit a concise weekly dashboard covering: ● Incidents and injuries ● Near misses reported ● PPE compliance ● Training completion ● High-risk observations ● Open safety actions ● Contractor-wise performance ● Serious risks requiring management intervention
Key Performance Indicators
1. Zero fatalities and serious injuries.
2. Minimum 98% PPE compliance.
3. 100% worker safety induction before deployment.
4. 100% scheduled safety training completion.
5. Increasing near-miss reporting, with no suppression.
6. 100% high-risk work covered by valid permits and controls.
7. Zero critical safety observations left open beyond 24 hours.
8. 100% incident and major near-miss investigations completed with root cause analysis.
9. Monthly emergency and safety preparedness activities completed.
10. Improvement in contractor-wise safety audit scores.
Authority The Safety Engineer is authorised to:
● Stop any unsafe activity immediately. ● Prevent any untrained or non-compliant person from working. ● Suspend high-risk work without proper permits or controls. ● Escalate critical risks directly to the Project Manager. ● Recommend removal of repeat offenders from site. ● Recommend penalties or suspension of contractors for reliable violations. Qualification and Experience ● Diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Safety Engineering. ● Recognised qualification in industrial or construction safety. ● Minimum 5 years of construction-site safety experience. ● Experience on large commercial, residential or mixed-use projects. ● Working knowledge of work-at-height, lifting, scaffolding, electrical and fire safety. ● Ability to communicate clearly with labour, supervisors, contractors and management. Required Behaviour ● Visible on site, not desk-bound. ● Firm without becoming confrontational. ● Willing to stop work under pressure. ● Strong observation and follow-through. ● Uses evidence, photographs and records. ● Focuses on prevention, not only compliance paperwork. ● Treats every near miss as an opportunity to prevent a future injury.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
