The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily maintenance and engineering activities of the hotel. The role ensures that all equipment, facilities, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and other engineering services are functioning safely and efficiently. The position also supervises the maintenance team and ensures timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Maintenance/Engineering team.
- Assign maintenance jobs to technicians and monitor their completion.
- Attend to maintenance complaints and service requests from all departments.
- Ensure timely completion of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, staff areas, equipment rooms, and other facilities regularly.
- Monitor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, water supply, and other hotel systems.
- Identify maintenance issues and take corrective action promptly.
- Maintain proper records of maintenance work, breakdowns, inspections, and repairs.
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing of equipment.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when required.
- Ensure proper availability and storage of engineering tools, spare parts, and consumables.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve maintenance-related issues.
- Ensure proper shift handover and communicate pending maintenance work.
- Guide, train, and monitor maintenance technicians and helpers.
- Monitor staff attendance, discipline, grooming, and work performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and hotel engineering standards.
- Support fire and life-safety system inspections and maintenance.
- Monitor energy and utility consumption and report unusual usage.
- Ensure engineering areas, workshops,



and equipment rooms are kept clean and organized.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requirements.
- Minimize disruption to guests and hotel operations during maintenance work.
- Assist the Engineering Manager/Chief Engineer with reports, maintenance planning, and departmental requirements.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Management or Head of Department.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of hotel maintenance and engineering operations.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building maintenance.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or relevant Engineering field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or resort.
- Previous supervisory experience will be an advantage.
- Experience in a 4-star/5-star hotel or resort will be preferred.
