We are looking for an experienced EPUB Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in EPUB production, conversion, validation, and accessibility. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of EPUB standards, HTML, CSS, XML, and accessibility requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Create, convert, and maintain high-quality EPUB 2 and EPUB 3 publications.
- Develop accessible and responsive EPUBs using HTML, CSS, XML, and related technologies.
- Ensure EPUB files comply with EPUB standards and accessibility guidelines.
- Perform EPUB validation using tools such as EPUBCheck.
- Identify and resolve formatting, structural, navigation, and validation errors.
- Implement accessibility features including semantic structure, navigation, metadata, alt text, headings, landmarks, and accessibility metadata.
- Work with production and editorial teams to troubleshoot EPUB-related issues.
- Optimize EPUB files for compatibility across different e-readers and reading platforms.
- Review final EPUB files for quality, consistency, and accessibility before delivery.

Required Skills

- 5+ years of professional EPUB development experience
- Strong knowledge of EPUB 3
- Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, XML, and XHTML
- Experience with EPUBCheck and EPUB validation




- Understanding of WCAG and digital publishing accessibility
- Knowledge of ARIA, semantic HTML, and accessible navigation
- Experience troubleshooting EPUB rendering and validation issues
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills

- Experience with PDF to EPUB conversion
- Knowledge of DAISY / accessible publishing
- Experience with publishing tools and EPUB production workflows
- Familiarity with InDesign and ebook conversion workflows
- Knowledge of ONIX and EPUB metadata
- Experience working with large-scale publishing projects
