Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced technology leader to head our Application Delivery & Engineering function. This role will be responsible for defining and executing Digit's engineering strategy, scaling high-performing engineering teams, and ensuring delivery excellence across all technology platforms.

The incumbent will work closely with Product, Business, and Executive Leadership to build scalable, resilient, secure, and future-ready technology solutions while fostering a strong engineering culture driven by ownership, innovation, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and execute the engineering vision, technology roadmap, and long-term architecture strategy.
- Lead and scale engineering teams across backend, frontend, mobile, platform, integration, and data engineering functions.
- Drive high-quality and predictable delivery aligned with business and product priorities.
- Ensure platform scalability, system reliability, performance, availability, and security.
- Champion modern engineering practices including Microservices, Cloud-Native Architecture, DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code,



and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Partner with Product and Business teams to translate strategic objectives into executable technology roadmaps.
- Build, mentor, and develop engineering leaders and senior technical talent.
- Establish architecture governance and drive technical debt reduction initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to data security standards, regulatory requirements, risk controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors, partners, and strategic engineering investments.
- Foster an engineering culture focused on innovation, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience & Qualifications

- 12 to 18 years of overall software engineering experience.
- Minimum 5 years in senior engineering leadership roles managing large engineering teams.
- Proven experience building and scaling highly available, distributed, customer-facing systems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, cloud platforms (AWS preferred), APIs, databases, and enterprise application delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in modern engineering environments leveraging cloud technologies, microservices, DevOps, and CI/CD frameworks.




- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.
- Exceptional people leadership skills with a track record of building high-performing engineering organizations.
- Mandatory experience in the Insurance domain.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in General Insurance, Life Insurance, InsurTech, or FinTech organizations.
- Exposure to Data Platforms, Event-Driven Architectures, AI/ML-enabled systems, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience managing geographically distributed or multi-location engineering teams.
- Familiarity with operating within highly regulated environments.
