Key Qualifications for Assistant Professor of Anatomy (NMC Norms):

- Medical Candidates: MD (Anatomy) / MS (Anatomy) / MBBS with MSc (Anatomy) / MBBS with PhD (Anatomy).
- Non-Medical Candidates: MSc (Medical Anatomy) followed by a Ph.D. in the subject from a recognized university.
- Experience Requirement: Candidates must have worked as a Resident/Registrar/Tutor in the Anatomy department of a permitted/recognized medical college for at least 3 years.
- Non-Medical Faculty Limits: The proportion of non-medical teachers is restricted to up to 15% of the total faculty strength in the Anatomy department.
- Key Considerations: Non-medical faculty cannot become Head of the Department (HoD) or Principal.
- 2025 Updates: Under updated regulations, 2 years of experience as a Specialist/Medical Officer in a Government Hospital (220+ beds) can also count towards eligibility. NMC +4
