Responsibilities

- Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, and IMS DB/DC.
- Support mission-critical payment applications for global banking clients.
- Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions.
- Manage and track development activities and project workflows using JIRA.
- Perform production support, issue resolution, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.




- Assist in performance tuning and capacity improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to technical documentation, coding standards, governance, and best practices.
- Support Agile development methodologies and participate in sprint activities.
- Explore and contribute to Agentic AI initiatives, including automation, intelligent code analysis, and AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of overall experience in Mainframe application development.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, and IMS.
- Strong expertise in:
- COBOL (Mainframe Development)
- JCL (Job Control Language)
- CICS
- IMS DB / IMS DC

- Experience working with batch and online transaction processing systems.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Hands-on experience using JIRA for workflow management and tracking.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Agentic AI and AI-assisted development tools.

Preferred Skills

- Experience within the Banking and Payments domain.
- Knowledge of SWIFT, ACH, ISO 20022, or card payment processing.
- Experience with DB2 and VSAM.
- Familiarity with IBM z/OS utilities.
- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices in a mainframe environment.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted development technologies.
- Certifications in IBM Mainframe, COBOL,



or DB2 will be an added advantage.
