As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care. #BetterDaysStartNow The Faxing Engineer is a specialized technical role responsible for the design, implementation, administration, optimization, and support of enterprise faxing solutions in both on-premises and cloud environments. With a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience, the successful candidate will ensure reliable, secure, and scalable fax communications that integrate seamlessly with contact center, telecom, and business systems. This position plays a critical role in fax migrations, hybrid architectures, troubleshooting FoIP (Fax over IP) issues, and maintaining high availability for mission-critical document workflows. Full Job Description **Position Title:** Faxing Engineer **Department:** Contact Center / Telecom / IT Infrastructure **Reports To:** Contact Center or Telecom Architect / IT Manager **Location:** [Remote / Hybrid / On-site - specify as needed] **Employment Type:** Full-time Role Overview As a Faxing Engineer, you will serve as a subject matter expert in enterprise fax technologies, managing the full lifecycle of fax platforms to support secure document transmission across the organization. You will handle both legacy on-premises systems and modern cloud-based solutions, driving migrations, integrations, and operational excellence while collaborating with cross-functional teams in telecom, networking, applications, and security. Key Responsibilities - Design, deploy, configure, administer, and maintain on-premises and cloud fax solutions, including OpenText RightFax, RightFax Connect, eFax (Consensus Cloud Solutions), Biscom FAXCOM, and similar platforms. - Lead and support fax migration projects from on-prem to cloud/hybrid environments, ensuring minimal disruption to business workflows. - Manage Fax-over-IP (FoIP) integrations, including SIP/T.38 configurations, session border controllers (SBCs), telephony routing, DID/DNIS management, and carrier interoperability. - Troubleshoot complex fax delivery, routing, quality, and transmission issues using logs, SIP traces, packet captures (e.g., Wireshark), and root cause analysis. - Integrate fax systems with enterprise applications such as Microsoft Exchange/Office 365, MFPs (multi-function printers), EMR/EHR systems, document management platforms, and contact center solutions (e.g., NICE CXone, Microsoft Teams Phone). - Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell preferred), monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reporting for performance, availability, and compliance. - Ensure high availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, security, and compliance (e.g., HIPAA if applicable)



for fax platforms. - Perform system upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and capacity planning. - Collaborate with vendors, telecom providers, and internal teams (network, security, applications) for issue resolution and enhancements. - Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles. - Provide Tier 2/3 support, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to incident response. - Evaluate new fax technologies, cloud services, and integration patterns to recommend improvements and optimizations. Qualifications and Requirements Experience: - Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in fax systems engineering, administration, or related telecom/contact center roles. - Demonstrated expertise with on-premises fax solutions (e.g., RightFax on Windows Server) **and** cloud fax platforms (e.g., RightFax Connect, eFax, SRFax, or equivalents). - Solid background in enterprise telephony, VoIP, SIP, T.38, FoIP, and network protocols. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, IIS, SQL Server, and PowerShell scripting. - Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, NAT, VLANs, DNS), SBCs (e.g., AudioCodes, Ribbon, Oracle), and integration technologies (SMTP, APIs, REST, watched folders). - Experience with monitoring tools, change management, and ITIL processes preferred. - Familiarity with contact center platforms and document workflows is a strong plus. Education and Certifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., OpenText RightFax, cloud platform certs, CCNA, or ITIL) are highly desirable. Soft Skills: - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities. - Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Detail-oriented with a focus on reliability, security, and customer service. Preferred Qualifications - Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance) or large-scale enterprise environments. - Knowledge of additional fax or document automation tools (e.g., Kofax). - Project management or migration leadership experience. - Scripting/automation beyond PowerShell or exposure to modern cloud-native patterns.
