Lead – HR Business Partner
Location: Pune
Reporting To: Head – Human Resources
Position Summary
The Lead – HR Business Partner (Technology) serves as the primary HR partner for the Technology organization, supporting approximately 170+ employees across software engineering, platform operations, product, technology delivery, and related functions.
The role works closely with the CTO and technology leadership team to drive workforce planning, organization effectiveness, talent management, leadership capability, employee engagement, and strategic people decisions. The incumbent is expected to operate independently, provide data-driven recommendations, and influence business outcomes through effective people practices.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering
- - Partner with the CTO and Technology Leadership Team to align people strategies with business priorities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on organization design, workforce planning, and talent decisions.
- Support organization restructuring, team effectiveness, and workforce optimization initiatives.
- Participate in leadership discussions relating to organizational health and capability.
Workforce Planning & Talent Strategy
- - Lead annual and quarterly workforce planning processes for the Technology organization.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to define hiring priorities, workforce forecasts, and critical talent plans.
- Monitor workforce trends and provide recommendations on capacity, skills, and succession risks.
Performance & Talent Management
- - Drive performance management processes across the Technology organization.
- Facilitate talent review and succession planning discussions.
- Identify high-potential talent and support development planning.
- Partner with managers on promotion, career growth, and internal mobility decisions.
Leadership Coaching & Manager Effectiveness
- - Coach leaders and managers on people management practices.
- Support leadership capability-building initiatives.
- Guide managers on performance conversations, feedback, employee development, and team effectiveness.
Employee Relations & Culture
- - Manage employee relations matters and complex people issues.
- Ensure consistent interpretation and application of policies.
- Drive engagement, retention, and employee experience initiatives within Technology.
- Conduct skip-level discussions and gather employee insights.
Organizational Effectiveness
- - Analyze attrition, engagement, performance, and workforce metrics.
- Identify organizational risks and recommend interventions.
- Support change management and transformation initiatives across Technology teams.
Required
Experience & Qualifications
- - 8–12 years of progressive HR experience.
- Minimum 4–5 years as an HRBP supporting Technology, Engineering, Product, Digital, or IT organizations.
- Robust experience in organizational design, talent management, and leadership partnering.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate independently.
- Experience supporting high-growth or evolving organizations.
Preferred
- - Experience in software development, SaaS, platform engineering, product organizations, or shared services environments.
- Exposure to global stakeholder management and matrix organizations.
