Role: Factory Manager

Location: Pollachi, Tamil Nadu

The Factory Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of factory operations, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, shipment schedules, manpower productivity, safety requirements, and operational controls are consistently achieved.

This is a hands-on factory leadership role requiring solid floor-level involvement, people management, production planning, problem-solving, and coordination across departments.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee day-to-day factory and manufacturing operations.
- Plan production according to confirmed orders, priorities, capacity, and shipment schedules.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved.
- Monitor manpower allocation, attendance, productivity, overtime, and workforce utilization.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Printing, Quality, Packing, Maintenance, Stores, Procurement and Logistics teams.
- Ensure products meet required quality standards and customer specifications.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take immediate corrective action to avoid delays.
- Monitor rejection, rework, wastage and material consumption and implement measures to reduce operational losses.
- Improve productivity, process efficiency and utilization of available machinery and resources.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and ensure minimum production downtime.
- Maintain factory discipline, housekeeping, workplace safety and compliance requirements.
- Monitor order progress and ensure production is completed in line with committed shipment dates.
- Implement SOPs, process controls and continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
- Prepare and review daily production reports, productivity reports,



efficiency reports and other operational MIS.
- Train, guide and develop supervisors and production teams.
- Report factory performance, operational issues and improvement actions to management.

Candidate Profile

- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with relevant experience in a factory/production leadership position.
- Robust knowledge of production planning, factory operations, manpower management and quality control.
- Experience in coir, textile, home furnishings, floor coverings, rubber products or other labour-intensive manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Experience in an export-oriented manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage supervisors, workers and multiple production departments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work under production and shipment deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Working knowledge of Excel, production reporting and ERP/MIS systems is preferred.
- Good communication skills in Tamil and English.
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or a related discipline is preferred.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of factory performance rather than simply supervise production.

The right candidate should be comfortable spending significant time on the factory floor, identifying problems, working with supervisors and workers, improving processes, and ensuring that production commitments are achieved consistently.
