Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced People & Employee Relations Manager to join our growing organization and play a key role in strengthening employee experience, people engagement, and workplace culture.
The role will serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on people-related matters,
workplace concerns, team dynamics, and sensitive employee situations. The individual will work closely with leadership and managers to foster an open, respectful, and supportive work workplace.
We are looking for a strong people leader with excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, empathy, and the ability to navigate complex situations with maturity and discretion. While experience in HR or Employee Relations is valuable, an HR background is not mandatory. We are open to experienced professionals from other people-centric leadership backgrounds such as education, teaching, training, academic administration, operations, mentoring, or similar fields.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted and approachable point of contact for employees and managers on people-related matters and workplace concerns.
- Build strong employee relationships and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Support managers in effectively handling team dynamics, interpersonal challenges, communication, and sensitive employee situations.
- Facilitate the resolution of workplace conflicts and employee concerns in a fair, balanced, and confidential manner.
- Handle employee grievances and sensitive matters with appropriate discretion, empathy,
and sound judgment.
- Coach and guide managers on effective people management and difficult conversations.
- Partner with leadership to strengthen employee engagement, communication, collaboration, and overall employee experience.
- Support the consistent and fair application of organizational policies and workplace practices.
- Maintain appropriate and confidential documentation relating to employee concerns and resolutions.
- Contribute to initiatives that strengthen organizational culture, employee well-being, and people development.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline; qualifications in HR, Psychology, Education, Management, or related fields would be an advantage.
- 12+ years of experience in a people-facing leadership, managerial, or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience managing people, teams, interpersonal situations, or employee-related concerns.
- Strong experience in conflict resolution, relationship management, coaching, mentoring, or handling sensitive situations.
- Excellent communication, active listening, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong emotional intelligence, empathy, and sound judgment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Comfortable working with employees and managers across different levels of the organization.
- Experience in HR, Employee Relations, People & Culture, or a technology organization would be an advantage, but is not essential.
