nLocation: Mumbai, India
nType: Contract - 2 Months
nKey Responsibilities
nDesign & Creative Development
n• Independently conceptualise styles and capsule directions suited to ZAVI's markets — Dubai, Riyadh, & the UK — accounting for silhouette, chic but modest sensibility, for the mature audience, climate, and price architecture
n• Initiate market and trend research and translate findings into cohesive design directions
n• Develop mood boards, sketches, and fabric concepts as fully formed proposals — not loose references
n• Bring ideas to the Lead for alignment, then own execution completely from that point
n• Maintain and evolve ZAVI's design language: minimalist, seasonless, contemporary, conscious
nTechnical Design
n• Produce accurate tech packs with full construction details, graded measurements, and material specifications
n• Create detailed flat sketches in Adobe Illustrator
n• Manage all revision rounds through to final approved spec
nSampling
n• Brief factories on samples directly and manage the process independently
n• Conduct or assist in fit sessions — log corrections with precision, update specs, track iterations
n• Approve final samples in line with ZAVI's quality and aesthetic standards
nProduction & Factory Management
n• Manage day-to-day communication with manufacturing partners
n• Visit factories globally, Independently or with the Lead as required
n• Negotiate lead times and flag risks to the production calendar proactively
n• Oversee QC at production stage and upon delivery
nSourcing
n• Source fabrics, trims, and finishes aligned with ZAVI's sustainable material framework
n• Maintain and grow a network of reliable, ethical suppliers — particularly within India
nWhat We're Looking For
n• 7 - 10 years of experience in fashion design with end-to-end production involvement
n• A portfolio that demonstrates design authorship and commercial range — not just execution
n• Proven ability to design f
