KYC Team Lead – Demat & Trading Account Activation

Responsible for leading the KYC and account activation team responsible for processing and activating Demat and Trading accounts. The role involves ensuring accurate KYC verification, timely account activation, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the KYC/Account Activation team and monitor daily productivity and quality.
Oversee KYC verification and activation of Demat and Trading accounts.
Ensure customer documents and KYC details are complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable regulatory requirements.
Review and resolve KYC discrepancies, document deficiencies, and account activation exceptions.
Monitor account opening and activation TAT.
Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams for issue resolution.
Handle escalations related to KYC, account opening, and activation.
Conduct quality checks and identify recurring errors or process gaps.




Prepare MIS and daily/weekly performance reports covering volumes, TAT, rejection rates, and pending cases.
Train team members on KYC processes, documentation requirements, internal policies, and process updates.
Ensure adherence to applicable KYC/AML, regulatory, and internal compliance guidelines.
Drive process improvements and automation opportunities to improve activation efficiency and customer experience.
Key Skills

Robust knowledge of KYC, Demat and Trading account opening/activation processes.
Team handling and people-management skills.
Good understanding of compliance and documentation requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Experience with KYC account-opening systems and MS Excel.
Ability to manage high-volume operations while maintaining accuracy and TAT.
