Purpose of this role
Senior Battery Mechanical Modelling Engineer
Key Responsibility Areas
Develop battery 0D/1D physics based swelling model to evaluate battery performance under different conditions
Integrate the battery 0D/1D mechanical model to 3D models to understand swelling behaviour at different locations
Design the multi-scale tests from component to system to validate the mechanical models
Develop FEA mechanical models to optimize mechanical components of the battery considering Electrochemical and thermal aspects
Develop 3D mechanical models and perform analysis for cell, module, and pack to evaluate early concepts and validate production designs
Develop models to study the effect of creep and fatigue on cell and module components
Develop high fidelity crush and cracking model to evaluate effect of mechanical abuse on cell level
Collaborate broader engineering team (cell design,
pack design, and manufacturing) to support design cells, modules, and packs.
Review academic literature and attend conferences to remain current with current battery technology and competitive products
