Job Title: Primary Design Engineer – High Voltage Substation

The Primary Design Engineer is responsible for the design and development of High Voltage (HV) Substation Primary Engineering deliverables across transmission and distribution projects. The role involves preparation, review, and coordination of primary design documentation, ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry standards, project requirements, and quality procedures. Design and review substation configurations and schemes including, Feeder Bays, Transformer Bays, Busbar Arrangements, Mesh Corner Schemes, Shunt Reactor Bays





Develop Maintenance Access Layouts ensuring safe operation and maintainability.

Prepare Cable Trench Layouts in coordination with civil and secondary design teams.

Prepare Typical Equipment Earthing details and installation drawings.

Perform Short Circuit Force Calculations for rigid and flexible busbars.

Develop Mechanical Interlocking philosophies and associated design documentation.

Develop Lighting Design calculations and Layout drawings.

Ensure designs comply with client requirements, relevant standards, and project specifications

Coordination & Project Support

Coordinate with Civil, Electrical Protection & Control, Telecom, and other engineering disciplines.

Interface with project teams, vendors, and clients for technical clarification and design coordination.

Support design reviews, value engineering initiatives, and technical risk assessments.

Monitor design schedules and ensure timely delivery of engineering documents.
