Business Development Engineer Edmund Optics India Location: Reports To: Marketplace Sales Manager India

With over 80 years of experience, Edmund Optics® is a trusted provider of high-quality optical components and solutions, serving industries like Life Sciences, Biomedical, Industrial Inspection, Semiconductor, and research and development. The Business Development Engineer is responsible for growing sales of Edmund Optics Marketplace products within an assigned region. The role involves regular field visits to existing and potential customers, understanding what they need, recommending suitable products, preparing and following up on quotations, and converting opportunities into sales.

This is a junior-to-mid-level field sales role for someone who is customer-focused, organized, willing to learn technical products, and comfortable spending significant time meeting customers and developing business in the region.

Respond to customer questions and help customers identify suitable products for their requirements

Use product information, presentations, samples,



and sales materials to support customer discussions and field sales activities

Take part in product training and continuously build knowledge of the Marketplace product range

Regional Field Sales and Business Development:

Take ownership of Marketplace sales development within an assigned geographic region

Develop business with universities, academic institutions, government research organizations, research and development centers, industrial manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers, and other relevant customers

Bring in technical specialists, internal teams, or third-party suppliers when a customer requires additional technical or commercial support

Help identify gaps in the current product range and suggest additional products or suppliers that may support customer demand

Stay informed about customer activity, competitor products, and market developments within the assigned region
