Description
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Develop and implement FPGA/processor firmware for high-performance motion control systems.
- Contribute to firmware architecture, FPGA partitioning, and real-time control implementation under the guidance of technical leads/ Architect.
- Design, develop, and review RTL modules using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
- Implement high-speed PWM generation, current control loops, and encoder/resolver interfaces (BiSS, EnDat, SinCos).
- Develop ADC/DAC acquisition logic, manage multi-clock domain designs, and support FPGA implementation using Vivado and/or Quartus tool flows.
- Develop and optimize Field-Oriented Control (FOC), torque, speed, and position control algorithms, along with trajectory planning and motion profiling.
- Optimize fixed-point arithmetic and firmware performance to achieve deterministic real-time control.
- Develop and integrate FPGA-based industrial communication interfaces such as IO-Link , EtherCAT, PROFINET, CANopen etc.
- Implement and verify firmware safety features in compliance with functional safety requirements (IEC 61508, ISO 13849), including mechanisms such as Safe Torque Off (STO) and fault detection.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on current sensing, gate drivers, ADC timing, PCB bring-up, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Support board bring-up, debugging, system integration, validation, and performance optimization.
- Participate in firmware architecture discussions, technical reviews, and code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Follow and promote firmware development standards, coding guidelines, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and support knowledge sharing within the team.
