The Senior IT Specialist will be responsible for managing and supporting the institution’s IT infrastructure, systems, applications, network, and end-user services. The role will ensure reliable, secure and efficient technology support for academic and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, networks, Wi-Fi, printers, UPS, and other IT infrastructure.
- Provide advanced technical support to faculty, staff, and students and resolve escalated IT issues.
- Monitor network, internet, systems, and infrastructure performance and ensure timely troubleshooting.
- Support IT provisioning for new employees, including system access, email, software, and hardware.
- Maintain and troubleshoot institutional applications such as ERP, HRMS, LMS, attendance, appraisal, and other digital platforms.
- Support smart classrooms, laboratories, AV systems, online meetings, examinations, and other academic technology requirements.
- Implement IT security measures, access controls, endpoint protection, patching, and cybersecurity practices.
- Monitor backups and support data recovery and business continuity processes.
- Maintain IT asset records and coordinate repairs, AMC, warranties, and replacements.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for IT projects, installations, upgrades, and issue resolution.
- Prepare and maintain IT documentation, SOPs, system records, and technical reports.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and digital transformation.
Requirements
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Applications, Electronics, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in a higher education or institutional workplace.
Required Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure.
- Good communication and stakeholder-management skil
