Overview
Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization and an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, dedicated to improving the health of women and families in developing countries. For over 50 years, it has focused on providing high-quality, low-cost health care solutions, training health workers, and strengthening health systems.
Jhpiego has been working in India since the 1980s in close partnership with national and state governments. With deep technical expertise and strong implementation capacity, Jhpiego designs, pilots, evaluates, and scales innovative, evidence-based solutions across multiple health domains, including Tuberculosis and Infectious Diseases, Maternal and Newborn Health, Reproductive Health, Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Nutrition, Immunization, Women's Cancers, Non-Communicable Diseases, Global Health Security, Human Resources for Health, and Digital Health.
About the Program
Jhpiego provides strategic technical assistance to the Government of India's National TB Elimination Program (NTEP)



to accelerate TB elimination through health systems strengthening, implementation research, digital innovations, and evidence-based interventions. Working closely with the Central TB Division (CTD), State TB Cells, the National Health Mission (NHM), and development partners, Jhpiego supports the delivery of high-quality, people-centered TB services across the continuum of care.
The program implements several national and multi-state initiatives, including the Integrated TB–Tobacco Screening and Referral Program, an creative initiative that integrates tuberculosis screening with tobacco control and cessation services across community and institutional platforms. The program strengthens collaboration between the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP), National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP), National Program for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD), National Oral Health Program (NOHP), and the National Health Mission
