Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Software Engineer – Backend & Distributed Systems to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and scaling highly available backend systems that power products used by 820+ million monthly active users worldwide.

You will take ownership of critical data infrastructure, optimize distributed database systems, and build scalable backend services capable of handling 100,000+ requests per second. This role offers the chance to solve complex engineering challenges, work on large-scale distributed systems, and mentor fellow engineers while driving technical excellence across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Engineering & System Design

Design, develop,



and deliver high-performance backend services and product features at massive scale.
Build and maintain systems capable of handling high traffic volumes with low latency and high reliability.
Design scalable, fault-tolerant, and resilient distributed architectures.
Take end-to-end ownership of business-critical services and data management systems.

Distributed Databases & Infrastructure

Design, optimize, and maintain distributed database environments to ensure:
High availability
Scalability
Reliability
Performance
Work extensively with distributed SQL databases, preferably YugabyteDB, in production environments.
Identify inefficiencies in database usage patterns and implement improvements across products and services.
Collaborate closely with Infrastructure and Platform teams to stabilize and scale database clusters.
Performance & Reliability

Conduct system performance benchmarking and capacity planning.
Implement monitoring, alerting, and fail
